Best view you can get. Just sit in that gazebo and take in the scenery and you will be transformed. And the location is just 3 minutes from town so you have all the privacy but then so close to shopping and restaurants. We are already planning when we can return - it was so special and magical! And the company was great to work with and extra sweet that they made us a Happy Anniversary sign - it's the little things that make a vacation like that special!

Bluff House was ideal for our small family reunion. Very clean and orderly. Spectacular views and location. Convenient to all that the Mendocino Coast has to offer, indoors and outdoors. Cottage was fully-equipped and separate but not cozy. We left a list of maintenance issues with management.

We have stayed at the Bluff house a few times now and we returned again for our anniversary. Great spot, clean house. The only bummer was the hot tub was not working and couldn't be repaired on our stay. Management should always check to make certain it works before arrivals.

My family stayed here for my wedding weekend in mendocino. It had the most amazing views. The house was really clean and well maintained. Couldn't recomend this more.

Our ocean front view was incredible. We had four days of perfect weather and we’re able to open all the windows and enjoy the soft breeze while watching the sea birds gliding by the living room windows. It was very relaxing. Overall we were happy with our stay, but there were a few things that could be improved. The upstairs bedroom was very hot and stuffy when we arrived. We opened the window and turned on a floor fan, but it took hours before the room became somewhat comfortable. The locks on the doors could use some maintenance. Could have used a few more items in the kitchen, there were only 2 teaspoons and the non-stick fry pans needed to be replaced, there were no bowls for cereal or ice cream. The cottage out back was very cute and comfortable. The location of the house in relation to town was great.

This is a lovely house perched on the edge of the Pacific. We were delighted to be on the fly way of the brown pelicans---hundreds each day!

Excellent location. Comfortable and clean but lacking in some amenities such as adequate glasses, dishwater, dining chairs with paltry soap in the bathrooms. The place is stocked for 5 people but we had six because we had both units. We did not suffer but just had to scramble a few times.
The wifi is inconsistent but that may be because of the area although the router had to be re booted many times.
Overall, it is a great place and those few issues would not prevent me from renting again.

We had an excellent two day visit at the Bluff home. The home has an outstanding full view of the beautiful pacific. The living room furniture was very comfortable with great views. Be aware that the second bath is next to the laundry room and the second floor bedroom has no bath.

We did rent the detached cottage and there were some issues but the staff at Mendocino Preferred Properties fully resolved the problems.

We will definitely return.

We have been coming to the Mendocino coast for 50 years now. Of all the places that have we have stayed, Bluff is one of our very favorites.
The view, the privacy, the closeness to town,all make it ideal for a romantic place to stay.

The house was clean and well appointed.
Almost walking distance to downtown Mendocino.
Whales were migrating north and spouts were frequent if you know what to look for.

Views are fantastic! Cool weather and mild climate make the location one of the best in California. Rachel & Janet from Mendocino preferred worked hard to make our trip memorable. Duff added some history to the area that added to the trip. Well Done!

We have rented through Mendocino Preferred for at least 12 years and have had excellent service. Our stay at the Bluff House was fantastic. Great location close to town, wonderful views, and had everything we needed for our stay. Will be going back for sure.

Can't beat location and dog-friendliness.
There were a few areas that need attention:
1. Front yard is mole/gopher infested. This is unsightly and leaves a bad first and last impression.
2. TV/DVD etc. were unable to navigate. I checked with the office staff. No one is available to help. Some IT person in the community should be on a retainer to trouble shoot such basic problems.
3. A few light bulbs were burnt out. Housekeeping should check this after guests leave and replace.
4. Need a large teapot in kitchen.
5. Would be nice to have a simple vacuum cleaner to clean up dog-shedding, etc. for long stay guests.
6. A carafe coffee maker in the kitchen to make 12 cups at a time.
7. Blanket under bed spread in main bedroom should be replaced. Its cheap, motel-style is inappropriate for a high end rental.

The view from Bluff House is incomparable. The house itself is in need of some attention. We had to kill or sweep up bugs and spiders throughout the house. The refrigerator has crisper bens off their tracks and the handle on the freezer comes off easily.The house shouldn't be advertised with WiFi as it barely works if at all. The light fixture above the vanity in the master bathroom had 1 of the 3 lights that flickered off and on so we had to unscrew it and the faucet control knob cap won't stay on. The tv in the cottage wouldn't turn off the lat night we were there so we had to leave it on when we left the following morning. The door to the master needs repair so it will stay closed. The toilet flush chain in the house spare bathroom broke and had to be replaced. The kitchen sink fixtures are loose and need to be tightened to the counter top. It was somewhat clean when we arrived but when we swept there was a lot of dog hair. I will give Mendocino Preferred some credit for getting a plumber out quickly to fix the toilet and attempting to provide a solution for the internet. It's not worth the amount being asked to stay here. I give it a 3 only because of the view. I would recommend staying here if theses things are taken care of.

We absolutely loved everything about this rental. It was very comfortable for 4 of us. The view was breathtaking. We will definitely return and stay longer.

The views are spectacular and furnishings are modern and comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed and I prepared a number of meals in it. It’s close to town, yet we only went into it once since the house was so inviting and comfortable. I very much will be back.

We have been staying with Mendocino Preferred, in a variety of homes, for the past 15 years. It is always a pleasant experience and the homes definitely meet/exceed our expectations. The Bluff House didn't disappoint and we will probably be back next January! The view is absolutely amazing, the home is well equipped (as are all Mendo preferred homes), the location close to town was a plus, and all-in-all we had a wonderful trip.

The Bluff House was just what we needed to ring in the new year. It is by far the most beautiful view I have experienced at any rental. Home is warm and comfortable. Everything you need to relax and enjoy life. We will be back.

It’s a pearl, you have your ocean view like none other and I’ve rented mini houses on the coast. The kitchen is well equipped and we cook a lot! There were six of us with a baby and two dogs and it was very comfortable and intimate. Your cars are safe behind a wooden gate and your pets are safe.

The home is in a great location with an outstanding view...very relaxing. The down side was there were problems with the dishwasher, the fireplace was not working and a kitchen cabinet door hinge was broken. A cozy house, but needs a little "tender loving care."

The rental staff was spectacular: more than accommodating, generous, and warm. The house needs some attention to things like knobs, dishwasher, window coverings--what we would call detailing. Kitchen was not conveniently designed for true cooking. But, location, location, location.

This was our second stay at the Bluff House. Our adult children stayed in the 'big house', my spouse and I stayed in the cottage, which is a perfect way to enjoy the wonder of Mendocino, the Pacific Ocean, and escape from the noise of the world. Wonderful Wonderful!

Breathtaking views, a spotless house and cottage. Everything was wonderful, although we were disappointed that the hot tub was not working. Nonetheless, perhaps this shall be our new favorite place in Mendo!

The Bluff House is a very pleasant place, clean and well supplied. But the important aspect is the view through the big windows. Imagine an almost 180 degree view of ocean waves crashing into rocks and cliffs. And for an even better vantage point, take a hot cup of tea out to the gazebo at the very tip of the point. You can spend hours gazing at the waves and feeling your blood pressure plummet.

Bluff House has stunning views and very comfortable furniture and bedding and all the kitchen things you could possibly need. The location is perfect and the yard is very nice too. We did have to drive to find safe walking trails because the road behind the house was very narrow and the cars do not slow down for walkers. We had friend who stayed in the cottage and loved it except for the smell that an attempt was made to mask with some kind of air freshener that did not work. We suggest that the owners do something (more insulation or central heat/air to fix the bad smell as the cost to rent it as it is is not justified.

Main house has excellent views as it sits right on the bluff and is very nice, the cabin is set back with limited views. The walk to town is less pleasant than expected as the road has curves and no sidewalk.

It was very enjoyable. It’s our second time in the Bluff house and we love the view. It is very comfortable and well equipped.

Truly, this home is exceptional. The views of the pacific are incredible and breath taking. My mom and I were so happy with this home, we barely left. I highly suggest making time to just sit and look out at the Mother in all her glory.
